Coaching Staff

Larry Bumb

Head Coach

Coach Bumb has been the Head Coach for Francis Howell since 2017.

He started coaching in 1994 and throughout his career has coached at several different high schools, select clubs, Central States and St. Peters teams.

As a player, Coach Bumb played for DeSmet Jesuit as well as Delta Hockey, Meramec Sharks, West County Flyers and the St. Louis Hockey Club.

In addition to his involvement with the FHHC, Coach Bumb actively serves as a board member for the St. Peters Hockey Club, Missouri Hockey Youth and the St. Louis Sting.

Doug Raines

Associate Head Coach

Coach Raines has been coaching with Francis Howell for the past 5 years, including the last three seasons as Head Coach of the Junior Varsity team.

He has been coaching sports for the last 20+ years and credits the other coaches that have helped mentor him along the way. 

"I’m passionate about making each player the best that they can be and enjoy the sport they play," says Coach Raines. "Respect the game, respect the officials, respect the other team, respect your coaches and thank and respect your parents."

Outside of hockey, Coach Raines has 30-plus years in the fire service, where he currently holds the rank of Captain. 

Coach Raines and his wife, Heather, have three children: Mackenzie, Hannah and Ethan.


Matthew Heering

Assistant Coach

Coach Heering grew up playing hockey in the St. Louis area where he played at the Central States level until he moved to Switzerland. There he played for Forward Morges HC U20 Junior team until he was 18.

Coach Heering has taught Biology at Francis Howell for seven years and is in his second year as a coach for the Vikings.

Ryan Farber

Assistant Coach

Coach Farber is a Francis Howell Viking alum and is in his second year coaching for FHHC.

Outside of the rink, Coach Farber is a successful realtor in the St. Louis market, leading the Ryan Farber Real Estate Group.

Bill Lindhorst

Assistant Coach

Coach Lindhorst has been coaching hockey for the past 12 seasons, first at the club and now the high school level.

He has been active with FHHC for the past four seasons, working with all of the club's teams.

Off the rink, Coach Lindhorst is a founding co-owner of Five Star Electric in O'Fallon.
