Vikings fall behind early, bounce back to improve to 4-0
The Francis Howell Vikings founds themselves in unfamiliar territory Saturday night, trailing in a game. For the first time all year, the Vikings fell behind as Timberland tallied 2 first period goals.
Howell found it footing in the second period, outshooting Timberland 12-3, capped off when Sophomore Nate Angelo put Howell on the scoreboard at 10:49 of the second period, assisted by Freshman Mason Land.
Junior Brayden Brandhorst tied the game with a power play goal at 5:15 of the third period, assisted by Junior Charlie Jackson and Senior Caleb Bridges.
Senior Nick Trankler put his name on the scoresheet just a minute later, taking a Nate Angelo pass and slipping it past the Timberland goalie to net the game winning goal, 3-2 Vikings.
Timberland pulled their goalie late in the third, but the Vikings held on to claim their fourth consecutive win, earning Senior goalie Jack Finch back-to-back victories over Timberland.
The Vikings (4-0-0) will play Fort Zumwalt West (1-3-0) at the Rec Plex next Saturday, Nov. 22. Game time is 9:45 pm
