Vikings score early and often in 6-0 win!

After showcasing a strong defense in Game 1 of the St. Charles Invitational Tournament last Wednesday, the Vikings put their offense on display Sunday night overpowering Fort Zumwalt North, 6-0.

Senior Nick Trankler netted the Game Winning Goal, picking up his first point of the preseason, when he found the back of the net at 10:17 of the first period, assisted by Junior Jonas Blankenship. Less than a minute later, Junior Brayden Brandhost added is first goal of the 2025 preseason off a pass from Sophomore Nate Angelo. Senior Caleb Bridges added the Vikings third tally of the period at the 8:30 mark, taking a pass in the slot from Senior Sean Gilmore, flipping a backhander past the goalie to give Howell a 3-0 lead.

Freshman Nolan Manzella picked up the Vikings fourth goal of the first period, and his second of the preseason, assisted by Junior Will Peterson and Angelo.  

Senior goalie Easton Bristow recorded Howell's second consecutive shutout, turning away 8 FZN attempts he faced.

Peterson added a pair of goals for the Vikings in the third period to finish the scoring for Howell.  His first, assisted by Junior Colton Johnson came at the 11:11 mark, following by his second of the period at 6:08, assisted by Trankler and Blankenship.

Francis Howell (2-0-0) will play Duchesne (0-1-1)  in the third round of the tournament, Wednesday, October 8 in Wentzville.  Puck drop is at 8:20 pm.
